Lehighton Borough Council took the following action on Monday:
• Approved the audit engagement letter with Hutchinson, Gillahan and Freeh for the 2021 audit in the amount of $20,475.
• Approved a $2,550 contribution to the Lehighton Downtown Partnership toward the proposal for landscaping and raised bed at the gateway sign.
• Approved the Keystone Consulting Engineers invoice in the amount of $3,698 for the Blight Remediation Grant Project.
• Denied the request from Bennett Family Properties LLC for 100 Blakeslee Blvd.
• Agreed to advertise the rooming house ordinance.
• Terminated the position of annex custodian.
• Denied the request of employee #67 for a Heart and Lung application.
• Approved the resignation of Autumn Abelovsky as liaison with Lehighton Area School District.
• Approved a resolution that establishes the current base purchased power cost for the PPAC.
• Approved the AFSCME Collective Bargaining Agreement from Jan. 1, 2022, through Dec. 31, 2024.
• Accepted the resignation of Georgene Balliet as crossing guard.
• Tabled the appointment of Corey Schaffer to the Planning Commission.
• Appointed Sara Wingert to the Shade Tree Commission.
• Approved the reappointment list as follows: Michael DeDonato, Zoning Hearing Board; Lamont Ebbert, Water Authority Board; John Kreitz, Property Maintenance Board; Autumn Abelovsky and Clark Ritter, Parks & Recreation Board; Jim Deebel, Central Carbon Municipal Authority.
