Santa Claus, tree lighting Saturday in Lansford

Santa Claus is coming to Lansford this weekend.

The American Fire Co. No. 1, Lansford Alive, the Events Committee, and Lansford Police Department are bringing Santa and Mrs. Claus to town with a parade and tree lighting.

The event begins on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. with the parade. The parade begins at the No. 9 mine, goes to West Ridge Street, to the townhouses, Pardee Street, East Bertsch Street, Cortright Street and to West Abbott before ending at Kennedy Park for the tree lighting.

The tree lighting will be held at 5:30 p.m., with the Panther Valley band performing Christmas carols, followed by the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Refreshments will be available and gift bags will be available for the kids.

Sponsors are Jim Thorpe Neighborhood Bank and PPL. The Lansford Fire Company is accepting donations to help cover the cost of candy.
