Mooney enjoying solid volleyball season at ESU

Two-time Times News Volleyball Player of the Year Jasmine Mooney is enjoying a solid season as a member of the East Stroudsburg University volleyball team.

Mooney, who starred for Marian in high school, is fifth on the Warriors in kills with 95. She has also contributed 49 digs and four blocks.

The former Fillie had 13 kills and 15 digs in a victory over Kutztown on Sept. 24, and registered a season-high 15 kills against Bloomsburg during another win on Oct. 8. The Lehighton native also delivered 10 kills in an Oct. 29 match versus Shepherd.

Mooney has helped ESU post an overall record of 13-9, and an 8-2 mark in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference. The team has four regular-season matches remaining, including a showdown at home Friday against West Chester. The Warriors and Rams are currently tied for first in the PSAC East standings.
