State police at Frackville have filed murder charges against two men with Pottsville addresses for a Oct. 21 incident in Cass Township.
Documents online filed in District Magistrate David Rossi show James W. Fitzpatrick, 49, is in Schuylkill County Prison and denied bail. Police had issued a warrant for his arrest.
A preliminary arraignment was scheduled for 4 p.m.
Fitzpatrick is charged with first and third-degree murder, two counts each aggravated assault and simple assault, conspiracy of murder in the first and third degree, conspiracy simple assault, conspiracy aggravated assault, and one count each of recklessly endangering another person, possessing and instrument of crime, conspiracy possessing instrument of crime, and conspiracy recklessly endangering another person.
Michael Robert Angelo, 50, has also been charged and is in Schuylkill County Prison without bail and faces similar offenses.
State police said Joseph Michael Fedornak,27, of Pottsville, was killed Oct. 21 in Cass Township.
Police were contacted by the Schuylkill County Communications Center at 6 p.m. that day for a disturbance at 22 Ash Road. Reports indicate an argument heard in the vicinity and a gunshot.
State police and Minersville Police responded and found the victim dead.
Fedornak is suspected of having been in a physical altercation with someone, police said.
