The Carbon County Volunteers for Literacy organization recently recognized individuals and groups for their support.

Trinity Lutheran Church, Lehighton, was recognized for allowing the group to use its facilities; the Jim Thorpe Job Center was praised for referring a high number of students for CCVL help; Martin Koeller and Spencer Diehl, a tutor/student team, were honored for having the highest total of contact hours; and Lisa Russell and Michael Kromer were presented achievement awards.

More than 75 people attended the buffet dinner and program at the Koch-Wildoner Pavilion at the Mauch Chunk Lake Park.
