Lehighton State Police report on incidents
State police at Lehighton reported on the following incidents:
• On Oct. 3 at 7:04 p.m. troopers were dispatched to Dinkey Road in East Penn Township, Carbon County, for an inactive domestic incident. Subsequently an investigation revealed that Melissa Karley, 41, of Lehighton, caused physical injury to a 19-year-old man from Bowmanstown. She was charged with simple assault and harassment, physical contact.
• On Sept. 30, troopers responded to a crash along Route 93 in Nesquehoning. The driver involved, Hunter Skidmore, 23, of Lansford, was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance and requested to submit to a blood test. DUI charge is pending.
• Troopers said on Oct. 8 at 1:45 p.m. along Louis Lane in Eldred Township, Monroe County, Daniel Forte, 38, of Kunkletown, was arrested for simple assault of a 78-year-old man from Kunkletown.
• On Oct. 16 at 1:31 a.m. a 1996 Subaru Legacy Outback was stopped along Interchange Road at Sawmill Road in Towamensing Township, Carbon County, for a vehicle code violation. The driver, a 34-year-old man from Lehighton, who troopers declined to identify, was determined to be under the influence of a controlled substance. Appropriate criminal charges will be filed pending toxicology test results, troopers noted.
• On Oct. 15 at 12:36 a.m. troopers were dispatched to Little Gap Road at Hawks Farm Road in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County, for a report of a disabled vehicle. On scene it was determined that the vehicle, a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee, was traveling eastbound on Little Gap Road when the driver, a 34-year-old woman from Kunkletown, who troopers declined to identify, lost control. The Jeep traveled into the guard rail on the right side. No injuries were reported.
The female was suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol. Troopers said they are investigating the crash.
