The Weatherly Area Community Library basket raffle is slated for Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Packer Township Municipal building, 2234 Hudson Drive, Weatherly. The drawing begins promptly at 1 p.m. A preview night will be held Friday from 6-8 p.m. Tickets may be purchased at that time.

This event is the library’s largest fundraiser with over 100 baskets, along with bigger ticket items, lottery tree and large “Jar of Money” valued at over $100.

The kitchen will be open for food purchases. Items include hot dogs, hamburgers, sausage and peppers, barbecue, haluski, and homemade goodies.

Each ticket sheet offers 25 chances. Winners need not be present.

“We are so excited to host this event after having to cancel last year,” said Susie Gerhard, president of the Library Board of Directors. “Last year was extremely difficult for all nonprofit groups. We chose to move our event from its traditional summer time-frame to and early fall event.”

All proceeds are used at the library for daily operations to continue services to our communities.
