Clothing giveaway

St. Paul's Lutheran Church on Old Stage Road in Albrightsville, will begin its clothing giveaway on Wednesday.The church will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Other days and times are: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday; and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.For more information call Shirley at 570-325-3523.Smoke detectorsIf you are in need of a smoke detector for your residence, the Jim Thorpe Fire Department will give you one for your home. Members of the reunion committee will meet at 11 a.m. This month is a Hawaiian theme.Those attending are reminded to bring items to be given to the local food bank and items for the prize box.Clothing collectionSt. John's Lutheran Church, 319 South Ave., is in the process of collecting clean and slightly used clothing for its annual clothing giveaway in August. Items may be dropped off at the church, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday; and from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays.If the doors of the church are not open please, call Tom Strohl at 570-325-2294 and if you need items picked up, call Bonnie Hoffman at 610-554-3528.The collection will end on July 25.
