It was an event to show customers and stakeholders around in observance of Public Power Week.
Which was exactly the intent of an open house held Wednesday at the Borough of Lehighton’s Light & Power Department building.
Public Power Week is Oct. 3-9, which offered the perfect opportunity to engage those in the community in the services they have at their disposal, according to Lonny Armbruster, superintendent of Lehighton Light & Power Department.
“We had giveaways, food and drinks,” Armbruster said. “It’s to let the community be aware of what they’re paying for.”
Borough Manager Nicole Beckett said the event was a chance for the community to see the equipment and facilities.
