LEHIGHTON BOROUGH COUNCIL

Lehighton Borough Council took the following action on Monday:

• Approved the release of the grant match for the Blight Remediation Grant to Jim Thorpe Borough.

• Approved the proposal in the amount of $3,800 from Labella for the ACM/LBP Building Inspection for 209 N. First St.

• Approved a proposal from Blanski Energy Management to correct the heat exchanger in the amount of $7,168.

• Agreed to purchase a smoke testing machine in the amount of $3,103 to detect inflow and infiltration.

• Accepted Troy Abelovsky’s resignation from the borough’s Police Civil Service Commission.

• Appointed John Kreitz to the planning commission to fill the unexpected vacancy left by Allen Young, who recently passed.

• Accepted the resignation of Glenn Finsel from the planning commission. Anyone who would like to fill the vacancy may submit their letter of interest to the borough.

• Approved final approval of lot line adjustment to convey Sewer Authority Property to W&W Holdings LLC.

• Adopted a resolution establishing the current base purchased power cost for the PPAC.

• Approved the Rockin’ Knockers Inflatable 5K run/walk to be held from 8 a.m. to noon Oct. 17 during Rocktoberfest.

• Granted permission to Jim and Linda Walp for access to four parallel parking spaces at 241 South St.

• Approved a rate increase for a family pass for a family of five whereby anyone party who exceeds the fifth family member would be charged a $20 fee.

• Approved the request from Head Start to hold a Trunk or Treat event Oct. 20, with a rain date of Oct. 21.

• Approved a request from Palmerton Borough for fire police assistance Nov. 25 for the Bo Tkach Turkey Trot 5K Race.

• On a 4-3 vote, agreed to ratify all items updated in the COVID-19 action plan. Council members Autumn Abelovsky and Ryan Saunders were opposed.

• Adopted a resolution related to state aid.

• Announced that trick or treat will be held in the borough from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 27.
