An Ohio man was killed when his motorcycle ran into the rear of a tractor-trailer on Interstate 81 near Hazleton on Friday.

Kyle Ripperger, 22, was pronounced dead at the scene by Luzerne County Deputy Coroner Jeff Stock.The accident happened at about 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of Route 93 and Interstate 81.State Police at Hazleton said Ripperger failed to negotiate a curve on the entrance ramp to I-81. This caused his motorcycle to impact the right rear of the tractor-trailer.The operator of the motorcycle also struck the trailer, before coming to rest on the east-bound on ramp.Responding besides state police were the Butler Township Police Department, Valley Regional Fire Company, Sugarloaf Ambulance, and fire police.
