By Frank AndruscavageRepublican & Herald(AP) A Schuylkill Haven man was jailed after being arrested by Pottsville police stemming from an incident about 9 p.m. May 16 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill E. Norwegian Street, Pottsville.Police said officers were called after a 26-year-old Minersville man walked into the emergency room with multiple stab wounds to his body.The initial investigation revealed an altercation occurred in the area of East Market and North George streets where officers found a blood trail that led them to an apartment on the 400 block of Norwegian Street in Pottsville.Police learned Eric Keefe, 36, attacked the Minersville man while inside the apartment. The attack had continued and escalated on a back porch where Keefe gained control of a knife and violently stabbed the other man numerous times, causing lacerations to his face, head, back and arm, police said. Keefe was taken into custody and charged by Patrolman Bryce Lewis with felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor offenses of simple assaul t, recklessly endangering another person and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge David A. Plachko, Port Carbon, and committed to Schuylkill County Prison unable to post $100,000 straight cash bail.
