A Tamaqua woman charged with throwing punches at a Tamaqua police officer will have her charges heard in Schuylkill County court.
Stephanie Crute,36, waived her right to a preliminary hearing by Magisterial District Judge Stephen Bayer this month.
Crute is charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, engaging in fighting, harassment, and simple assault for the July 23 incident.
Police responded to the Tamaqua Bungalow Pool for a disturbance that involved loud music and discovered Crute was with her daughters and declined to leave. Police said a speaker was playing offensive language and racial slurs.
Crute, police said, pushed an officer, resisted arrest and threw punches at officers and others at the pool.
Police said Crute’s young daughter attacked an officer while the officer was trying to arrest Crute, who kicked an officer while getting into the police vehicle. An officer was taken to the hospital as a result of the altercation.
The young daughter was given to her dad.
