The Hawk Mountain Council, Boy Scouts of America will hold a Golden Jubilee Event and Celebration on Oct. 1-3 at the Schuylkill Valley Fairgrounds in Schuylkill Haven.
More than 600 youth and adults will descend on the Schuylkill Valley Fair Grounds to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the formation of the Hawk Mountain Council, Boy Scouts of America (1970-2020). The celebration was previously scheduled last year, but due to the pandemic, was postponed to October 2021.
Scouts and Scouters from across Schuylkill and Berks counties, along with the Panther Valley School District in Carbon County will participate in weekend activities including Dutch Oven Cooking competitions, pioneering, earning STEM related merit badges, archery and much more. A special theme has been created for Cub Scout age youth (age 5-10), Cub Scout Chocolate Factory, where youth will make their way through various activities to fill their passports with fun and adventure. Some of these activities include, a Chocolate River Regatta Race, Swedish Fish Fishing, Obstacle Course, and a Bad Egg Dunk Tank.
The public is invited to come see Adventure in Action on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
