Faith Alive Church

Faith Alive Church, 678 Pine St. Palmerton (Bowmanstown), holds two services each Sunday with Pastor Rob Timlin. At 8:30 a.m. is the contemporary service followed by Sunday school for all ages at 9:45 a.m. and then the traditional service at 11 a.m.

Every Wednesday at 7 p.m., join us for prayer and praise.

Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. is staff parish meeting.

September Mission of the Month is Samaritan’s Purse. It is a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world.

Since 1970 they helped victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease and famine with the purpose of sharing God’s love through his Son, Jesus Christ.

JUCC

Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 545 Church Drive, Palmerton (Trachsville) holds worship each Sunday at 10 a.m. Sunday school has also resumed.

Worship will continue to be held in the church grove weather permitting. Dress comfortably and bring a lawn chair.

Supply Pastor Don Quayle will lead the worship.

Food pantry

The CACPAC-sponsored Palmerton Food Pantry will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 2915 Fireline Road, Palmerton on Sept. 24 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Fall worship night

Bethany Wesleyan Church, 457 Delaware Ave., Palmerton, invites you to join them for an indoor/outdoor fall worship night. The event will be held Friday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. There will be free refreshments, a hangout area for the family and live music indoors.

You are welcome to come and go as you please or stay for the whole event.

Apple and fall festival

Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 545 Church Drive, Trachsville, will be holding their Apple and Fall Festival on Oct. 2 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the picnic grove. Bring your lawn chair.

There will be music by Dean Hahn & The Hawks from noon to 3 p.m.

There will be a chance auction and meat raffle tickets with more than 40 prizes. The drawings will be at 3 p.m.

They will have a wagon with apples, apple cider, pumpkins and fall items for sale.

Come enjoy homemade food including apple dumplings, cobbler, funny cake, apple or regular sausage sandwiches, their very own Dutch Potato filling, barbecue, hot dogs, macaroni & cheese, and ice cream.

Community Dog Show

Bring your dog to enjoy the Bowmanstown Community Dog Show on Oct. 2 at the Oliver Solt Pavilion next to the Bowmanstown Fire Company on Lime Street.

Registration for the dog show begins at 11 a.m. The judging/show starts at 11:30 a.m.

Ten fun categories include: best dog costume, best dog trick, best tail wagging, liveliest dog, furriest/fluffiest dog, cutest dog, manliest dog, girliest dog, dog/owner look-alike, and most expressive eyes. There is a small entry fee. Includes prizes, participant ribbons and goodie bags.

Food and drinks will be available to purchase. There will be a basket raffle, silent auction and vendors.

A dog walk on the D&L Trail will leave at 9 a.m. from the Marvin Gardens Trailhead in East Penn Township.

Concourse Club selling tickets

The Palmerton Concourse Club is selling $5 shopping passes for Boscov’s Friends Helping Friends day on Oct. 20 from 8-11 a.m. This is an in-store only event.

The shopping pass offers savings of 10%, 15%, or 25% off purchases. It’s a great way to help this local organization, save some money for yourself, and maybe do some early holiday shopping.

Holy Trinity Lutheran

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton, will hold worship this Sunday at 10:15 a.m. Communion will be held.

If you plan to attend please call the church office at 610-826-2525. If you are unable to attend in person, you may join on Zoom.

Sunday school has also resumed.

Bible study is held on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. in the fellowship hall.

Thrift Shop

The Holy Trinity Thrift Shop at 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton, is open every Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. They have a selection of men’s, women’s and children’s clothing.

They also have housewares, books and much more.
