Motorists who travel along roads in Walker Township may want to ease up on the gas pedal.

Police officer Todd Woodward told supervisors Thursday that he has received complaints about speeders.“Speeding is an issue throughout the township,” Woodward said. “Most recently, a complaint was received of speeding along River Road.”As a result, Woodward said that the speed limits will be enforced throughout the township.Also as part of his report, Woodward said that police have received a report about burning reportedly coming from a home along River Road.Woodward said he hasn’t spoken to, nor warned the reported offender at this point.“The reported burning in question involved substances which emitted black smoke, which is indicative of rubber or plastic,” he said. “Those items are among items not to be burned in the township, as per ordinance.Woodward’s report was in response to complaints supervisors fielded last month on speeding, as well as a complaint about burning.OtherIn other business, supervisors:• Tabled a request from Heisler’s Dairy for a planning waiver and nonbuilding declaration until the planning commission meets on Oct. 27.• Tabled bids the township received for the sale of used equipment until Oct. 15. • Approved Supervisor Christine Troxell as a replacement member on the Eastern Schuylkill Recreation Commission.• Stated that a vacancy exists on the township’s planning commission.
