LEHIGHTON BOROUGH COUNCIL
Lehighton Borough Council took the following action on Monday:
• Approved payment application No. 1 in the amount of $125,923 for the Sgt. Stanley Hoffman Boulevard concrete paving and patching project.
• Awarded the vehicle fuel and diesel to Suburban Heating Oil Partners LLC, in the amount of $48,158 plus escalator cause.
• Tabled a proposal for the Cyber Insurance Quote in the amount of $11,436 so that council could obtain several proposals from other insurance companies.
• Approved a resolution supporting equality of fair funding for Pennsylvania School Districts.
• Accepted the resignation letter of part-time Public Works employee David Hill, effective Sept. 24.
• Agreed to allow Bowmanstown Borough to rent Lehighton’s leaf vacuum truck in coordination with Lehighton’s Public Works Department.
• Approved the 2022 MMO for the Police Pension Plan in the amount of $213,289.
• Approved the 2022 MMO for the Lehighton Borough Nonuniform Pension Plan in the amount of $216,486.
• Granted the three waivers for the W&W Holdings lot line revision - lot consolidation plan as recommended by the borough’s planning commission.
• Agreed to have borough secretary Brenda Kreitz serve as the recording secretary for the borough’s planning commission with a $50 stipend per meeting.
• Approved Peter and Veronica Wilczek’s request for a 90-day waiver on their subdivision plans.
• Awarded road material and aggregate bids to New Enterprise, Lehigh Asphalt and Hei-Way LLC.
• Approved a request from the Lehighton Area Lioness Lions Club to host the 16th annual Pink Light Walk on Oct. 5.
• Approved a request from the Jim Thorpe Lions for fire police assistance with traffic control for their Halloween Parade on Oct. 23 or Oct. 24.
