State police at Fern Ridge

State police at Fern Ridge reported on the following incidents:

• On Aug. 24 at 12:47 a.m. troopers responded at a residence along Rushmore Road in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County, for a report of a domestic altercation.

Troopers discovered that Christina Pasanen, 44, of Effort, struck and bit her child, causing injuries. She also physically assaulted a 68-year-old woman in the residence.

She was taken into custody and charged with simple assault and harassment. She was arraigned on the charges and committed to the county prison in Snydersville. She has since been bonded out of the prison.

• On Aug. 30 at 11:26 a.m. troopers conducted a vehicle stop of a 2007 Toyota Yaris at Kunkletown and Good Times roads, in Eldred Township, Monroe County, for a motor vehicle code violation.

The driver, a 29-year-old man from Walnutport, who troopers declined to identify, was suspected to be under the influence of a controlled substance. DUI charges are pending test results.
