CERT program classes planned

The Carbon County Emergency Management Agency is hosting classes for the CERT program.

The free program is designed to introduce county residents to training in first aid and triage, disaster preparedness, fire suppression, search and rescue and terrorism awareness.

Neighbors helping neighbors is the goal of the CERT program.

In the event of a disaster-emergency, as a CERT member, you would be recognized as a trained civilian volunteer to help and assist the municipal emergency service organizations within your community.

The course will be conducted at the Carbon County Emergency Management Agency, 1264 Emergency Lane, Nesquehoning, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 2 and 3.

Attendance of both sessions is required for course completion credit.

To sign up, call 570-325-3097 or email ccema@ptd.net.
