The Rev. James F. Halpin, S.J., a native of Coaldale, was ordained to the priesthood in Barcelona, Spain. The ceremonies took place at the Colegio de San Francisco de Borja, San Cugat, de Valles.

In attendance were his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Halpin of Waterbury, Connecticut. His mother is the former Mary Sharpe of Lansford.The Jesuit priest is a nephew of James and Helen Sharpe of Lansford, and Mrs. Mary Halpin McGorry of Nesquehoning.
