The Chestnuthill Supervisors on Tuesday approved plans for an ADA-accessible stone trail.
A proposal was made to install a trail from the parking lot to the fishing pier on Silver Valley Road at the quarry.
“This is for the ADA stone trail from the existing parking lot off of Silver Valley to the fishing pier installed there,” Chestnuthill Township Manager David Albright said.
It is 310 feet long and 5 feet wide. There is an area between the quarry and the road, but he said there isn’t an extensive area to work with.
“The 5 feet makes the requirements, but it can’t really be wider than that,” he said. E.F. Possinger & Sons Inc. will do the work for $11,328.

• Albright addressed an issue with Helen David’s existing home.
“In this case, the malfunctioning system is actually closer to the existing well,” he said.
They are proposing an indemnification agreement which was forwarded to attorney Timothy McManus to review, he said.
According to the owner, one of the options for satisfying the requirement was the ability to put the well and the new system 66 feet away from the malfunctioning system rather than the original 45 feet.
A motion to approve the waiver was passed.
