WALNUTPORT BOROUGH COUNCIL

Walnutport Borough Council took the following action on Thursday:

• Agreed to apply for Round 2 of Grow NorCo grant, and to apply for Wind Creek Casino funding, for a skid loader.

• Approved a resolution to apply for Local Share Assessment funding to replace the fire police vehicle, with the rest to come from COVID Relief funding.

• Amended the agenda to approve a change order with Bellview Pump, and approved the change order, for a completed street project.

• Agreed to spend an additional $1,000 for a seal coating project on Pine Circle and Cherry Street.

• Denied a request from Bowmanstown Borough for the use of Walnutport’s leaf truck.

• The borough will accept credit cards for online garbage billing, starting with the October billing cycle.

• Vacancies exist on the borough’s planning commission and zoning hearing board. Anyone interested may send their letter of interest to the borough office to the attention of borough Secretary-Treasurer Annette Lacko. Those who apply must be a registered voter and a resident of the borough.

• Announced that an e-recycling and document shredding event will be held from 4-6 p.m. Oct. 13. The electronics recycling event will be held at the borough hall parking lot, 417 Lincoln Ave., while the document shredding event will be held at the Rec Building at 215 Lincoln Ave.
