The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission has agreed to pay $155,500 to the Lehighton Water Authority under an eminent domain proceeding in Carbon County Court.
The authority was favored in that amount under a civil court verdict returned here on April 26, representing $100,000 in damages for the loss of 59 acres of its land to the commonwealth for construction of a section of the Northeast Extension of the turnpike in Penn Forest and Franklin townships, together with detention money at a rate of 6 percent interest a year for nine years and three months.
