Master Gardeners

Join a virtual information session on how to become a Schuylkill County Master Gardener at 6 p.m. on Monday. You can register for the information session at https://extension.psu.edu/master-gardener-training-information-for-schuylkill-county or call the Schuylkill County Office at 570-622-4225 for an application and details.

Interested candidates will be interviewed the week of Aug. 16. It is not too late to apply for 20 weeks of instruction in a supportive learning environment on Thursday evenings which runs from October through March. We are also introducing a hybrid training model this year which will give you the option to watch training sessions online from your home. The class will then meet once a month for hands-on learning at various local sites in the county.

Master Gardeners are typically enthusiastic, fun-loving team players with a generous spirit to volunteer as educators in the local community. This is a great opportunity for personal growth and social involvement. If you have any questions, reach out to program coordinator Casey Clauser at 717-639-3589 or cmc7444@psu.edu or program assistant Thomas Reed at 570-622-4225 or tcr142@psu.edu.
