Five Carbon County fire departments were dispatched to a brush fire which burned several acres in Franklin Township on Thursday afternoon. The firefighters battled the stubborn blaze for about three hours. The fire happened in the Sunny Rest Lodge complex. A fallen utility pole reportedly caused the fire. Winds fanned the flames and sent them up a hill in the direction of the Blue Ridge Communications TV 13 Studio.
