Minersville Police Chief Michael Combs said the fire that left nine people homeless last week was likely electrical.

“It’s accidental,” he said of the fire that started at 423 N. St and spread to 419 and 421.

All three homes have fire damage.

One dog and two cats died in the fire.

Minersville Fire Chief Eric Eichenberg did not return a call for comment.
