Holy Family Manor adds on-site dialysis unit

Short-term residents of Holy Family Manor in Bethlehem, a division of Holy Family Senior Living, who need dialysis services will now be able to receive their lifesaving therapies without having to go to an off-site location.

The on-site kidney care program was brought to Holy Family Manor with the partnership of DaVita Post-Acute Services and is exclusively available to short-term rehabilitation residents.

All dialysis patients who require short-term care at Holy Family Manor will also be able to access traditional or home dialysis treatment options after discharge.

The new six-seat dialysis den at Holy Family Manor was blessed on June 9 by Bishop Alfred Schlert.

“God, the comforter of the afflicted and the strength of the weak, has brought you together for the dedication of this building, established for the care of the sick,” prayed Bishop Schlert.

“May He strengthen you by His grace, so that in serving the sick with tender charity, you may serve Christ Himself who lives and reigns forever and ever.”

“We are thrilled to offer this service to patients in need of dialysis during their rehabilitation period,” said Joseph Shadid, CEO of Holy Family Senior Living.

“This new service line was designed to ensure the comfort and safety of our residents. With our new state-of-the-art, six-seat dialysis den, residents will receive their care without having to travel to an off-site location, reducing the discomfort, inconvenience and cost of frequent transportation for treatment.”
