A Carbon County driver was involved in a one-vehicle crash in Monroe County.

State police at Stroudsburg said the crash occurred at 2:37 p.m. on July 2 along Resica Falls Road in Middle Smithfield Township. Troopers said Mildred A. Barbeau, 34, of Nesquehoning, was driving a 2019 Kia Optima northbound when the vehicle left the road on the right side and struck a traffic sign along the berm.

After impact, the vehicle continued and struck a mailbox at 610 Resica Falls Road, and two trash cans before striking a tree, where it came to rest.

Barbeau and her passenger, Dennis R. Kibler, 34, of Lehighton, were not injured.

Barbeau was cited for driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.
