State police at Lehighton are investigating the theft of mail from rural mailboxes.

Troopers said on June 23 at 5:11 p.m. a 62-year-old man from Rossmor Drive in Ross Township, Monroe County, reported mail was taken from his mailbox. Some of the mail that was taken contained new ATM cards.

On the same date at 3:38 p.m. a 71-year-old woman from Brotzman Lane, in Eldred Township, Monroe County, reported her mail was found along the road. The mail contained paid checks, which were missing.
