Schuylkill funds to help residents

Schuylkill County Drug and Alcohol has $494,674 more to assist county residents after commissioners approved money Wednesday.

Finance Director Paul Buber presented four supplemental budget appropriations for approval. He said the grant money is a mixture of state and federal funds.

The largest amount, $253,074 which is federal, is for prevention services and temporary housing. A state grant of $129,245 is for treatment services and administrative costs; a $107,855 is for temporary housing assistance while a $4,500 amount is also for treatment services.
