State Police at Lehighton

State police at Lehighton reported on the following incidents:

• On Sunday at 8 p.m. troopers responded to a residence along East Columbus Avenue in Nesquehoning for a domestic incident. An investigation revealed that Thomas St. James, 46, of Palmerton, struck a 33-year-old woman from Nesquehoning, in the face. He was cited for harassment - physical contact.

• On May 29 at 11:22 p.m. troopers were conducting a DUI checkpoint at Third Street and Lehigh Avenue in Palmerton. As a result Nicholas Bertalan, 24, of Bowmanstown, was found to be operating his vehicle, a 2008 Volkswagen Rabbit, under the influence. Troopers also found him in possession of drug paraphernalia.

• On June 23 at 2:45 p.m. troopers stopped a 2002 Volkswagen Jetta at Bankway and Bridge streets in Lehighton for a motor vehicle code violation. The driver, a 36-year-old woman from Lehighton, who troopers declined to identify, was found driving under the influence of a controlled substance and found in possession of drug paraphernalia. She refused testing. Troopers said she will be charged with DUI and a drug count.

• On June 24 at 1:02 a.m. troopers responded to West Railroad Street in Nesquehoning. Troopers said a 58-year-old man from Nesquehoning, who they declined to identify, physically harassed a 47-year-old woman from Nesquehoning. A charge of harassment - physical contact, is pending.
