State police at Fern Ridge report on harassment, other incidents

State police at Fern Ridge investigated the following incidents:

• On June 11 at 1 a.m. troopers responded to St. Luke’s Monroe Campus, Stroud Township, Monroe County, for an assault incident. On scene the victim, a 58-year-old man from Gilbert, was discovered to have severe lacerations across his facial area needing immediate medical attention. During the investigation it was found that Michael Raub, 50, of Effort, committed the acts against the victim. Troopers indicated assault charges are pending.

• On June 12 at 2:32 p.m. troopers responded to a residence along Grand View Drive in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County, for a domestic incident. On scene a 56-year-old woman from Saylorsburg, said her son, a 20-year-old man, who troopers declined to identify, had made physical contact with her during an argument. She also said there was an active protection from abuse order which prevents him from harassing her.

Troopers said the male was cited for harassment - physical contact and a contempt of court order was also filed relative to the PFA order.

• On June 12 at 7:18 p.m. troopers responded to Keats Lane, in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County, for a domestic incident. A 42-year-old woman from Albrightsville, said she a 45-year-old man from Albrightsville, who troopers declined to identify, had an altercation during which the male subjected the female to unwanted physical contact. The man was charged with harassment - physical contact.

• On June 12 at 1:34 a.m. troopers responded to the intersection of Route 115 and Arthurs Way, in Tunkhannock Township, Monroe County, for a disabled vehicle blocking the intersection. On scene troopers found a 2020 Ford F350 truck with the driver, a 55-year-old man from Lake Harmony, who troopers declined to identify, asleep behind the wheel with the vehicle running and in gear.

The driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol and taken into custody for DUI.

• On May 26 at 10:21 p.m. police stopped a 2015 GMC truck at Route 115 and Marion Lane, in Chestnuthill Township. The driver, a 44-year-old man from Effort, who troopers declined to identify, was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI.

• Troopers said on June 12 at 11:30 a.m. Stephen Dennish, 28, of Brodheadsville, entered 1 Shot Firearms, at 1082 Toll Road, in Chestnuthill Township, and attempted to purchase a Ruger P85 MK11 9mm pistol. He completed the application/record of sale for the firearm transaction. An employee of the store ran a background check and Dennish was denied from purchasing the firearm. Troopers said it was Dennish’s second attempt at purchasing a firearm and he was denied both times.

Dennish has been charged with sale of transfer of firearms, a felony 3, and unsworn falsification to authorities, a misdemeanor 3.

• On May 25 at 7:19 p.m. troopers were dispatched to a verbal dispute between a woman and her niece at a residence along Dal Drive in Chestnuthill Township. Minor paint damage was observed to a vehicle.

As the result of an investigation Seda Mehmedi, 25, of Brodheadsville, was charged with harassment and criminal mischief; and Sevdije Mehmedi, 40, also of Brodheadsville, was charged with harassment.
