The Carbon County Fair monthly board meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday in the community room on the ground floor of the Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital campus of Blue Mountain Health System in Lehighton.

The fair board is presenting Jordan Behrens of Jim Thorpe as fair queen contestant at this year's Pennsylvania State Association of County Fairs Convention being held at the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center on Jan. 21-25.According to Bob Silliman, president of the Carbon County Fair, Behrens is the fair's first fair queen to compete at the state level.Anyone interested in becoming a display vendor at the 2015 fair is asked to call Silliman at 570-325-8685.Anyone who would like to become involved with the fair is asked to contact Liz McElwee at
