Lehighton police have charged a borough man with hitting another man with an aluminum baseball bat.
Court papers say Thomas Weiss, 52, hit a man in the head on June 2 in 1900 block of South East Alley.
The victim said he was struck in the back of the head with the bat and showed police a fresh bruise on his left shoulder. Lehighton ambulance was on scene but he refused to go to the hospital.
While the victim was being treated in the ambulance, Weiss was heard telling EMS personnel he struck the victim in the head with a bat.
The victim told police he was struck with the baseball bat and that Weiss said “I will (expletive) kill you.” while he was swinging the bat at him.
Weiss told police he hit the man.
Weiss faces charges of aggravated assault, simple assault and terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another.
He is currently free in lieu of $10,000 unsecured bail, and was scheduled to have a preliminary hearing Wednesday before District Judge Joseph D. Homanko Sr. of Weatherly.
