The Levee Loop Trail Run & Fitness Walk will be held Sunday in celebration of National Trails Day. Registration begins at 7:30 p.m. in Dansbury Park, East Stroudsburg.
The event will raise funds to build and maintain local greenways, including plans for a new pollinator trail.
There is a 4.5-mile race, or a 2.6-mile fitness walk along the Levee Loop Trail.
Participants get a commemorative T-shirt.
The walk begins at 8 a.m. and the timed run begins at 8:30 a.m.
Chairman Sonia Wolbert says, “In this event, we want for people to recognize the Levee as a trail. The Levee Loop is this beautiful, unique piece of nature in the middle of two urban areas. When you’re out on the Levee, you don’t feel like you’re in town. Yet, it connects the township and both boroughs, creating a safe alternative travel route for pedestrians into and out of town.”
