State police at Hazleton are investigating the theft of an emergency sign.

Troopers said on Sunday at 11 a.m. they responded to the area of 1266 Quakake Road, Packer Township, for a theft report. Troopers learned that an orange “emergency scene ahead” sign that was located on Route 93, about a tenth of a mile east of Grist Mill Drive, had been stolen. The sign was placed by members of the Citizens Fire Company. The sign was placed at 7 p.m. on May 20.
