Carbon County Commissioner Rocky Ahner, left, on Friday, provided comments on what Memorial Day means to him, as well as remembered the men and women who have died for this country. In addition, he read a poem that he wrote.
“To all that gave their lives throughout the United States history that made us second to none.
As we place a cross on your grave,
We know that you were brave.
You fought on land, air and sea
To keep us safe and free
There were many tears cried
For the battles where you died
Although you are not here today
We will always remember you, especially on Memorial Day.”
