Man admits to sexual advances

An elderly Schuylkill County man admitted in Carbon County court on Tuesday to making sexual advances on a teenage boy.

Stephen D. Olman, 80, of McAdoo, pleaded guilty to one count of corruption of a minor as a felony three.State police at Lehighton charged that on July 24, 2016, Olman was at a residence along Porter Drive in Penn Forest Township when he entered a bedroom where a 13-year-old boy was sleeping.When the male woke up Olman made sexual advances, which the victim refused and told him to leave. Olman left the bedroom but returned a short time later and tried again. The boy's family then notified state police.The charge falls under the provisions of Megan's Law, meaning Olman must be evaluated by the state sexual offenders assessment board to determine if he is a violent sexual predator. If it is determined that he is, the he will have to register for life as a sexual offender. If not, the registration period will be 15 or 25 years.Sentencing will occur after the assessment board reports its findings to the court.
