Sentencing continued in drug case

A Tamaqua man’s sentencing on drug paraphernalia has been continued to next month.

Jason Weaver, 39, has an 11:15 a.m. May 14 sentencing in front of Schuylkill County Common Pleas Judge Cyrus P. Dolbin, having originally been scheduled for April 19.

Tamaqua Police charged Weaver for an April 8, 2020, incident when he had an active warrant for his arrest from Carbon County and was found with a hypodermic needle in his pocket when arrested. Police said a metal spoon also fell out of his pocket.

Weaver was a passenger in a vehicle parked in the fire lane at Boyer’s in the borough.
