The cat who was shot in Saylorsburg several weeks ago is happily on the mend.

Although her injuries left the 3-year-old cat unable to use one leg, she was released from Creature Comforts in Saylorsburg to her owner, Donna Curicio.

“We picked Spotty up on Saturday, and she is doing well, but she probably will never have full use of her one back leg because she has nerve damage,” her owner said.

They reported the shooting to the Pennsylvania state police, but without a witness it would be impossible to know who would do such a horrible thing, Curicio said. She feeds and takes care of several stray cats and hopes whoever did the shooting will not try to shoot the other strays she feeds.

Although Curicio and her fiancé are happy Spotty is back home, they now have a sizable veterinary bill of $4,700 to pay off.

She wants to let people know that veterinarian Karin Brietlauch did an amazing surgery on Spotty, and the technicians were extremely helpful during Spotty’s surgery and stay at Creature Comforts.

“I don’t understand why anyone would want to shoot a harmless cat, and I hope it never happens again,” Curicio said
