The Summit Hill Shade Tree Commission will be conducting its Arbor Day program at 9:30 a.m. Saturdayat Ginder Field. The program will be held in conjunction with a groundbreaking ceremony for the Ginder Field Rehabilitation Project, held by the Summit Hill Recreation Commission.
The memorial tree plantings at the Little League field and Memorial Park will take place after the ceremony.Ginder Field is slated to receive a complete renovation, using grant funds from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.The project will include bocce, horseshoe and volleyball courts.The park will also be more accessible to people with disabilities with the addition of ADA-compliant walkways, with access to the new courts, and parking spaces.The recreation commisison has applied to DCNR for additional money to hopefully complete playground upgrades in the future.The public is invited to attend both activities Saturday morning.
