Camping opens at MC Lake

Mauch Chunk Lake Park officials are gearing up for the 2021 summer recreation season.

On Thursday, Commissioner Chris Lukasevich announced that the camping season at the park, located along Lentz Trail between Summit Hill and Jim Thorpe, opens today; while the beach opens to the public on May 29.

County residents pay $20 for an individual membership to the beach prior to May 27 and $40 for a family of four.

Beginning May 28, individual memberships go up to $25 for county residents and $50 for a family of four. Additional family members are $4 each and there is no charge for children 3 and under.

Non-county residents, the membership costs $50 for an individual and $100 for a family of four with each additional family member costing $5.

Applications for season memberships are now available at the park office or at www.carboncounty.com/index.php/beach/memberships.
