Track roundup: Results from April 13

The Northwestern boys and girls track and field teams posted wins on Tuesday.

Palmerton’s boys were also victorious.

TRACK AND FIELD

Northwestern-Pen Argyl

Northwestern swept Pen Argyl in Colonial League action.

The Tigers posted an 87-63 win on the boys’ side, while the hosts came away with an 85.5-64.5 victory in the girls’ contest, as both teams improved to 4-1 this season.

Dominic Yeakel (110H, 300H) and Caitlyn Miller (discus, javelin) both had multiple first-place finishes for the Tigers. Miller’s throw of 121-10 in the javelin set a school record, breaking the mark of 121-9 set by Steph Seyfried set in 1986.

Joshua Heilman (100), Samuel Bower (800), Cole Chukoskie (1600), Rhys George (pole vault), Jayden Gillette (300H), Emma Nelson (triple jump), Faith Yost (high jump) and Maria Kirkopoulos (shot put) also grabbed event victories.

NDGP-Palmerton

Palmerton split with Notre Dame Green Pond in a Colonial League meet.

The Bombers posted a 92-58 win in the boys’ contest, and fell 81-65 in the girls’ competition.

Corlan Wood had a monster day for Palmerton (4-1), winning the pole vault, long jump, triple jump and high jump. Jonathan Perloni also swept the 110 and 300 hurdles, while Brody Muniz picked up victories in the shot put and javelin.

In the girls’ meet, Natalie Mosier won the 800 and 1600 for the Bombers (2-3)

Wilson swept Northern Lehigh in a Colonial League meet.

The Warriors posted a 91-48 win in the boys’ meet, and a 116-20 victory in the girls’ competition.

Hailey Evans picked up wins in the shot put, discus and javelin for the Bulldogs (1-4), while Kristen Guelcher won the 100 hurdles and Cadence Whalen placed first in the high jump.

In the boys’ meet, Brady Hanzarik won the pole vault for Northern Lehigh (0-5).
