The covered bridge in the Little Gap section of Lower Towamensing Township opened

Monday, providing a short cut from the village to the Blue Mountain Ski Area. The bridge has been closed since the summer, while crews repaired damage from vehicle strikes. The project, which cost $291,126, included replacing the open-grid steel deck, sandblasting and painting the bridge and was covered by Act 13 bridgeimprovement funds, along with Act 44 funds.
