Do you like planning events?
Carbon County is looking for someone to represent the county on the Pennsylvania Commission for the U.S. Semiquincentennial celebration that is being organized.
Last week, Commissioner Chris Lukasevich announced the volunteer opportunity on the commission.
Responsibilities include reporting activities in Carbon to the subcommittees, participating in planning calls, promoting and attending regional events and attending the 250th anniversary annual fall meeting.
The commission that the person would sit on was created, according to the county, to “plan, encourage, develop and coordinate the commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States, Pennsylvania’s integral role in that event and the impact of its people on the nation’s past, present and future.”
Anyone interested in volunteering for the opportunity can call the commissioners’ office at 570-325-3611.
