Carbon County court — DUI cases

Defendants in pending driving under the influence cases entered guilty pleas in Carbon County court on Friday.

Judge Joseph J. Matika accepted pleas from the following:

Collin James Moore, 24, of Allentown, was arrested on May 31, 2020, along Route 443 by Mahoning Township police. A test revealed a 0.27 BAC. He also pleaded to driving under suspension - DUI related.

On the DUI count he was placed in the county’s Restrictive Conditions of Probation program (house arrest) for two years with 30 days spent in jail followed by 90 days on home electronic monitoring which will be supervised by Lehigh County. He must also pay a fine of $1,500, his license suspended for 90 days, render 100 hours of community service and supply a DNA sample.

On the suspension count he was sentenced to serve 30 to 60 days in jail and pay a fine of $500. The jail terms run concurrently.

He was given credit for 30 days spent in an inpatient rehabilitation program and paroled.

Tucker Scott Kindred, 24, of Martins Creek, Northampton County, was arrested on Sept. 19, 2020, by state police at Lehighton along Route 248 at Bowmanstown. A test revealed a 0.08 BAC.

He was placed on probation for six months and ordered to pay a fine of $300 and render 25 hours of community service.

Nicholas R. Brann, 35, of Kunkletown, was arrested Nov. 25, 2020, by state police Fern Ridge along Route 534 in Penn Forest Township. A test revealed a 0.13 BAC.

Sentencing was deferred so he can obtain a comprehensive drug and alcohol evaluation.

Joseph J. Poproch, 55, of Hazleton, was arrested on March 7, 2020, along Route 93 by Nesquehoning police. A test revealed a 0.18 BAC.

He was placed on probation for six months and ordered to pay a fine of $300 and render 25 hours of community service.

On two motor vehicle code violations he was fined a total of $50 and costs.

Eric M. Mason, 36, of Mantua, Ohio, was arrested on March 8, 2019, by Mahoning Township police along Mahoning Drive East. A test revealed a 0.16 BAC.

He was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in jail, pay a fine of $1,000, license suspended for a year, render 25 hours of community service and make restitution for damages in a crash of $6,420.14.

He will begin the jail term at 8 a.m. on April 9.

Benjamin Franklin Williams,David G. Kazanjian, 66, of Albrightsville, was arrested on Nov. 6, 2020, by state police at Fern Ridge along Route 903 in Penn Forest Township. A test revealed a 0.12 BAC.

He was placed on probation for 6 months and ordered to pay a fine of $300 and render 25 hours of community service.

Monica A. Matula, 39, of Brockton, Schuylkill County, was arrested on Aug. 1, 2020, by Lansford police along Ridge Street. She refused a test.

She was placed in the RCP program for 2 years with the first 30 days on home electronic monitoring and ordered to pay a fine of $500, license suspended for a year and render 100 hours of community service.

On a charge of driving under suspension, she was fined $200 and costs.

Joseph William Walck, 31, of Palmerton, was arrested for DUI of a controlled substance on March 23, 2020, by state police at Lehighton along Delaware Avenue in Palmerton.

He was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in jail and ordered to pay a fine of $1,000, license suspended for a year and render 25 hours of community service.

He is an inmate in the county prison on a probation violation. The DUI sentence began immediately.

David Carl Parker Jr., 27, of White Haven, was arrested for DUI of a controlled substance on Jan. 15, 2017, by state police at Fern Ridge along Springhill Road in East Side Borough.

Sentencing was deferred so he can obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation.

Thomas L. McMahon, 72, of Lehighton, was arrested on March 14, 2020, by Lehighton police along Route 443. A test revealed a 0.16 BAC.

He was placed on probation for six months and ordered to pay a fine of $300 and render 25 hours of community service.

Destinee D. Dalrymple, 25, of Kunkletown, was arrested on May 28, 2017, for DUI of a controlled substance by state police at Lehighton along Pohopoco Drive in Towamensing Township. She also pleaded to one count of possession of paraphernalia for an incident on Jan. 15, 2018, filed by Lehighton police following a traffic stop along Route 443.

Sentencing was deferred so she can obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation.

Christine Nichole King, 42, of Lansford, was arrested on March 19, 2019, by Lansford police for DUI of a controlled substance along Patterson Street.

Sentencing was deferred so she can obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation.

David M. Roberts, 52, of Slatington, was arrested on May 28, 2020, by state police at Lehighton, for DUI of a controlled substance along Route 209 in Mahoning Township.

Sentencing was deferred.
