Panther Valley staff vaccinated

Panther Valley School District’s staff have been vaccinated, the district’s superintendent said last week.

During a collaborative meeting between various Carbon County agencies, school districts and municipalities, Superintendent Dave McAndrew reported that thanks to an initiative through the Intermediate Unit in Schnecksville, all staff who wanted to be vaccinated against the coronavirus have received the Johnson & Johnson one-dose vaccine.

The staff include bus drivers, teachers, paraprofessionals and the district’s nutrition company.

“We’re doing very well here at Panther Valley,” McAndrew said, thanking St. Luke’s, Lehigh Valley Health Network, the Carbon County Commissioners and the IU for all of their help during the pandemic.

Panther Valley has followed a five-day in-person model all year, as well as a virtual option, McAndrew said, noting that the days of face-to-face instruction were shortened to allow teachers to instruct students who chose the virtual option.
