State police at Lehighton

State police at Lehighton reported on the following arrests made by troopers.

• On March 12 at 5:55 a.m. troopers responded to a residence in the area of 308 White St., Bowmanstown, Carbon County, for a protection from abuse order violation. It was reported that the suspect, Jason Koons, 38, of Bowmanstown, was on the property of the victim, a 62-year-old man. Koons was found on scene and placed under arrest for indecent exposure, criminal trespass and disorderly conduct. He was arraigned before on-call District Judge Joseph Homanko, of Weatherly, and placed in the county prison in Nesquehoning unable to post bail.

• On March 3 at 1:18 a.m. troopers conducted a traffic stop of a 2008 Chevrolet Equinox along Walnut Avenue and East Catawissa Street, Jim Thorpe. The driver, a 29-year-old woman from Jim Thorpe, who troopers declined to identify, was found to be driving under the influence.

• On March 23 at 2:53 a.m. troopers stopped a 2012 Hyundai Elantra along Blakeslee Boulevard Drive West at Clinic Road in Mahoning Township, Carbon County. The driver, a 18-year-old woman from Tamaqua, who troopers declined to identify, was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance. She was also found in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The investigation is continuing and charges are pending test results.

• Police said an argument occurred at 9:06 a.m. March 7 at a residence along Ore Street in Bowmanstown between and father and son. Troopers said a 39-year-old man from Lehighton, who troopers declined to identify, punched a 63-year-old man from Lehighton, with a closed fist. The suspect was squatting inside a family residence after being informed multiple times he was not allowed on the property.

As a result the suspect was charged with summary offenses of harassment and simple trespass.
