The Mahoning Township Board of Supervisors considered a plan this week for the repair of the Rex Road Bridge.
"We contacted John Wetzel (Municipal Engineer at LTL Consultants Ltd.) about the precast concrete. He will prepare the drawings and specifications for us," said Supervisor Bruce Steigerwalt. The repair of the 15-foot-wide bridge could be hindered by several large limbs of a nearby tree."When we do the road inspection we should talk to David Kurn and get his opinion on the humongous tree. We need to trim the branches or we are going to have clearance problems," Steigerwalt said."There is a tree on the northeast corner that needs to be removed. The road crew could use a bucket truck, backhoe and chain to remove it," he said."It'll be an improvement for clearances."The township's road inspection is scheduled for Friday according to Steigerwalt.
