Parryville business cited for COVID-19 violations

A Carbon County business has been cited again by state police liquor control enforcement office in Wilkes-Barre for violating COVID 19 restrictions imposed by the governor and secretary of health.

2008 River Walck Saloon LLC of Parryville, was cited for not requiring all customers to wear face masks while entering, exiting or otherwise traveling throughout the establishment, and did not require employees to wear face masks at all times while at the establishment. The violation occurred on Jan. 30.

Two Monroe County businesses were also cited for COVID-19 violations.

Jacobrea LLC, Stroudsburg, cited on Dec. 26, 2020, for allowing patrons in excess of 50 percent of the fire code limitations within the licensed premises, and served or sold food and/or alcohol intended for consumption inside the premises or allowed the consumption of food and/or alcohol inside the premises. Also, on Jan. 22, officials said they served alcohol to a patron in a transaction that did not include a meal and allowed a patron to be seated at the bar.

Old Depot Inc., East Stroudsburg, was cited on Jan. 31 for allowing a patron to be seated at the bar in violation of COVID 19 restrictions; and on Feb. 11 and 13, allowed a patron to be seated at the bar and served alcohol to a patron for on-premises consumption in a transaction that did not include a meal.

There charges will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious offenses. In addition, the judge can also impose a license suspension or revocation of the license based on the severity of the charge brought.
